Yesterday was the second day of setting up for the Hobie® Bream Series 8 Australian Championship on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The event site is looking pretty sweet now with all of the camo Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayaks kitted out with their Lowrance sounders and Power-Pole Micros.

The Hobie Fishing World Championship has grown remarkably since its inception in Australia, back in 2011. This year in Australia it has attracted an amazing level of interest with 180 individual anglers competing in qualifying rounds with the hope of representing Australia in the USA, in early December.
The current standings for the Australia Team to compete in the Hobie Fishing World Championship have been released. All indications are that to sit near the top of the point score table, consistency over a number of events is rewarded above all else.

Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, Saturday October 22, 2015 The 2015 Hobie Kayak Bream Series Australian Championship by Daiwa is officially underway! 49 anglers took off from the Power-Pole start line in near perfect conditions this morning for the first of two days of hard fought competition.
Day One is in the bag and congratulations go to Joel Crosbie from Victoria who weighed in four Bream for a total weight of 2.46kg. He was followed by fellow Victorian, Mitch King, with 4 for 2.38kg, Mitch also picked up the day’s Boss Hog with his 1.05 kegger. New South Welshman, Mark Young is currently sitting in third with 4 for 2.29kg.
