Getting The Job Done

Mon Setup
November 13 Mandurah, Western Australia 2017 Hobie Kayak Bream Series Australian Championship. A Team of 9 from Hobie Cat Australasia and the Getaway Outdoors Group, have put in a solid day of work to get the Australian Championship kayaks ready for the arrival of anglers over the next two days. While the setup is looking pretty sweet, there is a ridiculous amount to be completed before the crew will be satisfied with the event site. The 45 kayaks require further tweaking, but they have been, kitted out, each with a Hobie XL Livewell, a Hobie stakeout pole, a Hobie MirageDrive 180 forward-reverse pedal system, a Lowrance Elite-5 Ti fish finder, an anchor trolley and various Hobie H-Bar accessories. After a night of violent thunderstorms that hit areas to the north, but fortunately missed the event location, the weather today has been hot and sunny with “the doctor” (a cooling breeze blowing inshore off the Indian Ocean) coming from the south-west and blowing at around 10-15kts throughout the day. Tomorrow the setup continues as the countdown to the championship draws near.
