Congratulations to the anglers who have qualified and entered this year’s Hobie® Kayak Fishing Series 13 Australian Championship. The competition will be battled out from Mitchell Park in Broadwater Parklands on Gold Coast Queensland between July 13th – 17th, 2022!
During a time of uncertainty, our absolutely brilliant sponsors supported Hobie Fishing to create the ultimate kayak fishing series in this country and take anglers on an adventure through some of Australia’s most beautiful natural environments. Unfortunately, Series 13 faced challenges over two years due to several states’ austere COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, which led to many rounds being cancelled. But thanks to all your support, we’ve made it to amazing destinations, including Tasmania, for the first time since 2016!
Round after round saw new competitors join the growing list of enthusiastic regulars while the women’s groups continued to expand. Our Masters and Grand Masters divisions were combined to encourage the “old fellas” to keep coming back for more. Even when the fishing was tough, the camaraderie outshone any disappointment of a sugarless doughnut, friendships grew, and new ones developed.
The Hobie Fishing Kayak Series has always been more than just about fishing, it’s about sharing, it’s about being healthy and active, it’s about mateship and for many, it has become a way of life.
The supreme tournament, the ultimate test of skill and challenge that will make a new Australian champion, is yet to take place. The 13th series of Hobie Fishing tournaments will be concluded with an epic BANG!
The Hobie Fishing Series 13 is about to reach its ultimate destination with a supreme tournament on the Gold Coast. The competition will be fierce, but only one Australian can take home this title and be crowned Australia’s newest champion!
We’ll keep you up to date with developments as they happen in the lead up to the championship and give you cast by cast blows as the action heats up from July 10th.
We look forward to seeing the elite of kayak anglers in this country meet and compete in the 2021-2022 Hobie® Kayak Fishing Series 13 Australian Championship in Queensland.
