Hobie announces the introduction of a new Hobie Bass Social Series for 2016.

Late in 2015 Hobie Fishing Australia made the decision to rest the Hobie Kayak Bass series, which culminated in an Australian Championship at the end of the season, due to the signing of a Hobie 16 Sailing World Championship in China in June this year. This event combined with the 6th Hobie Fishing Worlds drains Hobie’s resources too much to run a fully blown Bass series in 2016.

The other reason for establishing a Bass Social Series this year is to introduce newcomers to the sport of kayak fishing with a low $20.00 entry fee and no requirements to belong to any organisation!

The low cost to attend these events should encourage anglers to enjoy the sport, as we do, in a less formal competition taking in some of Australia’s favourite Bass impoundments. These Hobie Bass friendlies will be more social and family friendly competitions.
