Yesterday was the second day of setting up for the Hobie® Bream Series 8 Australian Championship on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The event site is looking pretty sweet now with all of the camo Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayaks kitted out with their Lowrance sounders and Power-Pole Micros.

After an 1100km haul up the east coast of Australia, the team from Hobie Cat® Australasia arrived on the Gold Coast in Queensland yesterday and began setting up the event site for this year’s Hobie® Bream Series Australian Championship. The broad stretch of grass on “The Goldie” foreshore bustled in a hive of activity as 55 brand new camo Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayaks, all with a reversible 180 MirageDrive® and loads of other equipment, were moved onto the championship site.

Congratulations to Jason Garner from Queensland  for taking out Round 14 of the Hobie® Fishing Bream Series at Bribie Island, Queensland with his 4 fish bag weighing in at 2.255kg. The event was reduced to a one session event due to poor weather.

Round 8 of the Hobie Kayak Bream Series on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland has been run and won.  Congratulations to Lex Irwin from Queensland on picking up the top spot with his 4 bream bag weighing 2.37kg.  Irwin was followed closely by fellow Queenslanders Michael Halliday with 4 bream for 2.19kg and Warren Cossell with 4 for 2.12kg
